What is Tabla ?

Tabla is one of the most important percussion instruments in Indian classical music. It is made of two hand-played drums: the smaller drum is called Dayan, and the larger drum is called Bayan. Together, they create rich rhythmic sounds, beats, and taal patterns used in vocal music, instrumental music, dance, and live performance.

For music students, tabla practice helps develop a strong sense of rhythm, timing, beat control, and coordination. It supports singers and instrumental learners by helping them stay connected with the correct taal during practice.

At Bhaav Sangeet Vidhyalaya, tabla-based rhythm practice is useful for students learning vocal music, classical music, harmonium, performance skills, and group music. Regular practice with tabla beats helps students improve musical discipline, confidence, and rhythm understanding.

At Bhaav Sangeet Vidhyalaya, we are on a mission to nurture musical talent and inspire students through quality music education rooted in discipline, creativity, tradition, and heartfelt expression.
